Foot-stomping bluegrass and folkrock covers are their forte, and they love playing music to light the knee's-up dancing spark inside you! Their repertoire is wide and includes many popular tunes with a particular interest in early American folk forms. Appealing to all ages, they're adaptable to various kinds of events. The Winsome Lost also offer dance calling (circle; square; barn) to traditional folk tunes.

The Winsome Lost are:
Mark Easton: Vocals, Bass
Carrie Eames: Fiddle, Vocals
Peter Lockhart: Banjo, Mandolin and Harmonicas
Rob Bradshaw: Acoustic and Electric Guitars
Karl Johansen: Drums, Percussion and Vocals

The Winsome Lost excel where the audience is diverse. They get equally positive comments from 24 year old folk revivalists (fans of Mumford and Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show etc), as they do from your Gran who is strutting her stuff to Johnny Cash and Elvis on the dance floor. Weddings are a great fit for this reason, and they offer couples something a bit more alternative, vintage, hip and authentic. The Winsome Lost can also play you up the aisle acoustically and/or provide background canapé’s music.

The Winsome Lost love playing rural events for the energetic crowds and down-to-earth fun times.

Weddings:
99% of Winsome Lost gigs are weddings and they get enquiries from all over the country (Waiheke to Invercargill) because their sound seems to be what people are after for weddings. They can cater for acoustic playing down-the-aisle and background music during dinner etc., and often learn a first-dance song for the wedding couple.

Ideal for: music with a difference for corporate function, private party, wedding, festival, country themed event

Carrie, the bands fiddle player is taking maternity leave from the band till end of April 2015. She will be replaced by Melissa on 2nd guitar and fabulously strong vocals. You can check her out on this video singing with her other band.
