Eric Thomas is a talented and highly experienced guitarist and vocalist based in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. Dubbed the 'Ed Sheeran of Northland' by MoreFM's John, Flash and Toast breakfast show, Eric is celebrated for his mastery of live looping, exceptional vocals, and standout guitar work.
Before embarking on his solo journey in New Zealand, Eric built his reputation in South Africa as an in-demand session guitarist and backing vocalist—working with platinum-selling artists Jesse Clegg and Robbie Wessels—and as the founding guitarist of progressive outfit Red Helen. Career highlights include supporting Daughtry in front of over 8,000 fans, taking the stage at Wacken Open Air to crowds exceeding 20,000, and performing live on national television (Miss South Africa) to audiences of hundreds of thousands.
With his diverse musical background and natural stage presence, Eric brings a refined, expressive sound to every performance. His vocal style effortlessly moves from smooth, R and B-inspired warmth to powerful rock intensity, while his guitar work combines tasteful subtlety with bursts of virtuosic flair—always serving the song and atmosphere.
