After Five is an Otautahi Jazz and Contemporary Quartet that plays your favourite Jazz and pop covers. Consisting of Emma Summers on vocals, Glyn MacDonald on piano, Louie Moveley on drums and percussion and David Pitt on upright bass, we have decades and decades of experience playing in Jazz Bands all around the world!   After Five pride themselves on keeping their repertoire mostly true to the Jazz style but with a current twist, some more contemporary pieces thrown in, easy to listen to and perfect to be enjoyed by any audience at your event. They can get your work event up on the dance floor, or provide background jazz for a more formal event - the possibilities are endless and their broad range of repertoire gives them versatility to suit your needs. 

Emma has established herself as a contemporary jazz vocalist and teacher around Christchurch and is consistently pushing the boundaries by performing covers, yet adding a unique twist to them to create a more modern sound. She has performed at corporate functions, weddings, radio promotional material and many hospitality venues over the past 15 years and after spending a period abroad, has been calling Christchurch home for the past 5 years. 

Glyn moved to Christchurch from Perth in 2020 and comes with a long list of accolades. Glynn crosses across multiple genres and instruments as both a pianist and trombonist and has performed all over the world including Vancouver, Rome, China, Malaysia and across Australia. Having collectively performed with jazz greats such as James Morrison, Terrell Stafford, Gary Bartz and support to artists such as James Taylor and Harry Connick Jr., the musical pedigree of his work continues to be recognised by peers, industry and audiences alike.

Dave Pitt comes with decades of experience playing in multiple groups and is a frequent face on the Christchurch music scene with his upright bass. His expertise on the upright and his musical knowledge make him an absolute attribute to After Five. 
Louie joins the band with decades of experience with the River City Jazzmen and the NZ Army Band and NZ Navy band, amongst other big name groups and rounds off the stellar quartet.
