Alan Selway
Mark "Lodge" Boyes
Wayne Kirby

Ideal for: dance music for corporate function, private party, wedding

Alan Selway is the front man of Polestar. No stranger to performing live, Alan was a member of the British hard rock band "Vardis", back in the 70's and 80's. Quite at home performing in front of large crowds at Rock Festivals, such as 40,000 people at Reading Rock or the Heavy Metal Holocaust at Port Vale with Motorhead and Ozzy Osborne, or an intimate pub crowd, Alan loves to jump around and interact with the audience.
Currently, Alan is working on a solo album, due for release soon, watch this space.

Wayne Kirby is the backbone of Polestar. Having lived in New Zealand for a number of years, he has been in several covers bands. An old hand at doing the pub circuits, weddings and functions, Wayne is a true professional and a superb drummer. Wayne also enjoys teaching drums.

Mark Boyes grew up in a musical home in Steventon, UK. His mother played piano; taught recorder; and sang in the village church choir. Mark started learning keyboard as a child, and later progressed to the guitar and bass guitar. In the late 90s, Mark played bass guitar in a string of rock cover bands in the Swindon area.
After moving to New Zealand in 2004, Mark played bass guitar in several bands, and later played keyboards in an original’s band, Soulserene, performing at grassroots music festivals. During this time, Mark composed and recorded an original song, Cold on the Mountain, which placed runner-up in the Sounds of Manawatu competition. In late 2018, Mark formed Polestar with Alan and Wayne.
In addition to performing in bands, Mark gained Distinction in his ABRSM Grade 5 Theory examination in 2018, and recently passed his Trinity College Rock and Pop Grade 6 bass guitar examination.
Mark’s favourite bands are Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Pink Floyd.
