The Bootleg three piece rock and blues band is a three man band newly formed in early 2013. The lead singer, Merv Pinny, is both vocals and guitar, with Jim Hoare on the drums and Paul Collecutt on the bass guitar (with a super tight rhythm). All three members are professionals in the music industry brought together by their love and passion for music.
Bootleg band is based around strong vocals of Merv Pinny and the many year of experience of the band members, this year they have been rocking it up in Northland Private functions, pub and bars playing to back packers and local since they became a hit at the BOI jazz and Blues festive 2013.This three piece band plays covers from the foo fighters to CCR make this a classic Rock and Blues band that appeals to young and old.

Merv Pinny
Singer /song writer and recording artist

Merv Pinny was born in the King Country and grew up in a small town call Te Aroha. Merv Pinny is both a composer and artist in country, rock and blues music and become a well-known artist around New Zealand in the early 1990's.
Merv has three kiwi hit disks credited to his name and is signed with Sony Music Publishing. One of his albums, 'Destiny', was released on the Edge Warder Label and was nominated as the best country rock album at the New Zealand music awards in 1995. The same year Merv was also nominated best male vocals.
Merv Pinny's first single was within the 20 hits for New Zealand, and his single 'Destiny' won rock single for the year at the Waikato rock awards.
Over the years Merv Pinny has performed at some of New Zealand's top music events and played in front of audiences from 50 to up to 15,000.
