Hi guys and gals we hope you are staying home and safe.
The news is looking good with a light at the end of the tunnel.
Under level 2 people will be able to have events with up to 100 people indoors or 500 outdoors under fairly strict condition. Level 2 should start mid May. So hopefully it will be like the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquakes when people wanted to party and booked lots of entertainment.
How are you all surviving financially? Are you aware that you can apply for the Covid 19 wage subsidy if you are a self employed entertainer. Even if only part time.
In fact I have just been talking to a musician who has a part time job as well. She phoned MSD and asked if she could apply for the subsidy even though her part time employer has applied for the part time subsidy on her behalf. MSD said yes she was able to claim and encouraged her to apply for the full time subsidy. So she will receive $350 from her part time employer and a further $585 per week directly herself. This later amount is paid in a lump sum. It's simple to apply and usually you get the money within a couple days.
Here is the application form
It is real easy to complete. You are entitled to apply if your income is effected by more than 30%
