Tony
and Coral Thiel
Tony and Coral Thiel are currently based
in Blenheim and have been making multilingual music all over the
world for the last 40 years. After spending 25 years performing
in Europe, they returned to Down Under and since 1985 have been
performing in Australia and New Zealand.
Their repertoire of over 600 tunes includes covers the American
Songbook, Gershwin, Cole Porter and Show tunes, Afro Cuban, Tango
and the Continental songs from France, Spain, Germany and Holland.
This means they are ideal for setting a background theme for an
event based on these countries.
Coral has been the backbone of the many
groups these 2 have been involved in over the years as her vocal
style is very versatile. With over 500 songs comitted to memory
from every corner of the globe Coral offers a real authenticity
to the many languages she sings in. Coral also offers diversity
to the groups sound with her expertise on the congas. Giving the
impression of a larger group.
Tony is an accomplished pianist/keyboardist
who posesses amazing dexterity and not only supplies amazing melodies
and harmonic backings but also lays down a very solid and intricate
bass with his left hand. Audiences have been stunned at the virtuosity
of this musician!
Coral and Tony usually perform as a duo
but can add in another musician and perform as a trio if required.
All instrumentation is live and there are no backing tracks.
