Toni is currently a freelance vocalist, specializing in Jazz, Pop, Classical, Gospel and Musical Theatre. She is the main singer/ songwriter for local Christchurch band "The Portraits" and also sings in her own, self-titled jazz quartet. She is employed as a vocal coach at St Margaret’s College and Marian College and runs her own singing studio. She is one of two writers commissioned to write for the children’s television show and production “Crank”, and is also currently writing for a new show commissioned by Asia Pacific’s ABC. Toni has a Masters (Dist), (2003), and a Bachelor, (2000), of Music in Jazz Voice, which she received from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. In her time at the Conservatorium she was privileged to work and perform with renowned pianist Judy Bailey. Toni was also invited to be a member of the advanced ensemble, led by esteemed pianist Paul McNamara. In 1998, Toni completed her first diploma with distinction in Jazz voice, at the Christchurch Polytechnic. She was then granted a scholarship from the Polytechnic to further pursue her studies in Australia, at the Sydney Conservatorium. Toni was also awarded her associate diploma (A.T.C.L -Dist), from Trinity College London, in Classical Voice, in 1998. During her time as a professional artist, Toni has also been privileged to play with some of New Zealand and Australia’s most prominent Jazz and Contemporary artists, such as Stu Buchanan, Gerard Masters, Brett Hirst, James Muller, Judy Bailey, Dave Goodman, Paul MacNamara, Sean Wayland, Frank De Sario, Ben Hauptman, and Bob Sedergreen to name but a few. She has also performed in many different arenas including some of New Zealand and Australia’s most well known jazz venues such as Christchurch’s “Blue Note” , Melbourne’s “Bennetts Lane”, The Wesley Anne, and The Northcote Social Club.With an ever- growing audience, Toni Randle is a highly regarded vocalist and educator in both Australia and New Zealand.
