| The
Gee Bees
Over the last decade the
Gee Bees have performed at a variety of events – charity
functions raising funds for organisations such as Starship Hospital
Radio Lollipop, Coastguard North Shore, Red Cross and also, of
course, performing at private and corporate events. The 'lads'
have always been rapturously received (especially by the ladies!)
with fans from eight to eighty (yes, really!) dancing in the aisles
to those magical Bee Gee rhythms.
Between them the three lads have a wealth of experience.
Tony has been performing in musical theatre for nearly 30 years
with over 2000 stage appearances to his credit.
John was part of the well known Kiwi band 'Gandalf' in the 70s
and has since performed many singing roles with the North Shore
Music Theatre.
Paul has played amateur acting roles in UK theatre and has since
'MC'd' a number of variety shows here in New Zealand.
The GeeBees...a great cabaret and feature
act for your corporate or private function. And, of course, the
boys are always more than willing to support a good charity event
Paul plays the role of Maurice but sounds
like Barry
John plays the role of Robin but sounds like Maurice
Tony plays the role of Barry but sounds like Robin...
All a bit mixed up
but a great sound... and their stage show has a lot of fun thrown
in as well.
The pure Bee Gees tribute is about 1.5 hours presented
in any format
3x30mins, 2x45mins or 1x90mins set
can be stretched to 3 x 40 min sets

band leaders comments:We
are marketing ourselves as a feature / cabaret style act rather
than a general covers band.
We have worked very hard on the looks, sound and style of The
Bee gees.? We present a full show as a real Bee Gees tribute
band.
This includes giving the audience quite a few funny and unusual
facts about the brothers Gibb and family.
We start from their first hit, Spicks and Specks and work pretty
much up to their last hit before Maurice died, This is just
where I came in! We get the audience involved in singing along
as well as asking questions and giving out TheGeeBees magic
falcetto and harmony drinking potion bottles for correct answers.
We also have quite a bit of banter between ourselves and tell
a few 'suitable' jokes.??
During the last set we also get involved in teaching!! the audience
various disco moves.
The Gee bees have 2 front stage lighting trusses with 8 lights
on each, a back stage lighting truss across the stage with 8
lights and also a background printed banner.
There is also a spot light with a large mirror ball. A laser
with smoke machine and 2 robo / disco effect lights.
