Originally coming to life as the Weeping Angel of Christchurch after the devastating earthquakes, the Silver Angel now descends on the city streets not to weep, but to bring joy and a playful challenge for adults and kids alike. The Silver Angel interactive statue can transform into the Christmas Angel, Blessing Angel, Weeping Angel, Angel of Peace, Garden Angel or even Avenging Angel with the Sword… In her long silver flowing Renaissance robe, crowned with the shiny wreath of leaves, she is a mysterious creature. Do you dare to look the Angel in the eye? Don’t blink, or you might miss something very special! The Silver Angel is the creation of Ukrainian native, Christchurch resident Nataliya Oryshchuk. Nataliya completed a degree in Theatre Arts in Kiev. Christchurch became her home in 2002, and here she discovered the magical world of circus. She began her solo career as a hula hoop artist and living statue in Christchurch in 2010 and has since appeared at many events and street shows throughout New Zealand, including Dunedin Fringe Festival, Auckland International Carnival and the renown World Buskers Festival in Christchurch. Silver Angel is available as a living statue or as a roving character for various street festivals, corporate events, themed and garden parties, and also fundraisers in Canterbury and throughout New Zealand.
