Nikau Quartet
The Nikau String Quartet are a group of talented string players with a passion for playing great music. They have played many weddings and functions together and also are experienced performers individually.
From classics by Bach to classy jazz, their versatility in setting a mood is sure to impress. Based in West Auckland, the quartet offers a friendly and professional service with great music, perfect for your wedding, event, or function.

Ideal For: background music for corporate function, private party, wedding

The Nikau Quartet is also available as a duo or trio and can add other instruments such as piano if necessary. (please detail prefernces in inquiry form )

Emily Allen –Violin 1
Emily Allen studied violin performance in New Zealand and England. While in England she gained a Masters in Performance and worked as a freelance violinist.

Coralie Usmani -Violin 2
Coralie has recently finished her Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in performance violin. She plays in various groups around Auckland, including jazz, bluegrass, rock and orchestral groups.

Celia Wood-Calvert -Viola
Celia (B.Mus., ATCL) studied violin in Auckland and Chicago. She is a well-known West Auckland violin and piano teacher who works from her studio in Waiatarua. She has also studied music therapy and loves to work with groups of children.

Robin Snape -Cello
Robin grew up in Auckland, studied at Otago and Auckland Universities, and pursued postgraduate study in cello at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she worked and taught as a freelance cellist.

Hi Janet, Pete,

To confirm our feedback of the Nikau Strings Trio; they were marvellous, absolutely wonderful thank you so much.

It was lovely to meet them and to be lulled by their beautiful playing.

I was brought up in a musical family, so I really appreciate the ladies rare talent.

Some of our club members had never had the opportunity to listen to live classical music like that before, and the entire audience was spellbound with their playing. I think the ladies also enjoyed being centre stage with the spotlight on them, instead of being in the background.

We had some lovely reports back afterwards of how people had thoroughly enjoyed their performance.

I would be very happy to recommend them to anyone else; it was a real pleasure.
