Murder Mystery Evening

The Murder Mystery could take place at your work, a local restaurant or hall,
anywhere... as long as it can seat all your group so all can see the
activities "on stage".

The Murder Mystery is a fun theme to choose, making the evening more than just a
"dinner out" as it involves everyone that attends. Rick always sees
people having a great time.

Dressing-up in costumes really adds to the success of the Murder Mystery - it is
fun getting into 1920's costumes and really enhances the experience for all. If you are not able to be in costume I suggest that you provide some accessories, such as hats and boas, to help people get into character and have more fun that way.

'Flappers and Gangsters' Murder Mystery:

"The scene is Chicago, 1920's. The wedding dinner to celebrate the
newly-weds is marred by the discovery of the Mayor's murder. There
are many who would like to see him dead...

The Suspects:
1 - BRIDE / VIRGINIA SILVERO
2 - GROOM / ART MCGARTHY
3 - THE MAYOR'S SECRETARY / CINDY HALL
4 - DRIVER-BODYGUARD / JO HUNK
5 - GANG LEADER / LOUIE LASANGA
6 - GANG LEADER / DANNY O'HARA
7 - BRIDE'S MOTHER / GLADYS SILVERO
8 - ACCOUNTANT & LEGAL EAGLE / T. I. FISTID
9 - GAY DEPUTY MAYOR / JEROME BROWN
10 - MAYORESS / ESMERALDA MARCONI - MURPHY

It all gets started before the event as you would approach 10
outgoing people from your group to play the suspects - they would
enjoy being involved by reading out loud a brief introduction about
their character and to play this role during the evening.

A few days before the event, you would send Rick their names and any
fun information about them, as Rick would like to use this info for
comic effect during the show; for example, why each one was chosen
for their role, funny incidents, habits, nicknames, etc, would help
in his preparation to personalise the Murder Mystery for your group.

The Murder Mystery is presented in three parts, in between the courses of your
meal or to allow breaks for refreshments, as follows:

Part 1. The suspects' introductions and clues read out by other
people from the audience (about 30 minutes).

Part 2. The suspects act out hilarious scenes as directed by Rick.
This develops the plot and further incriminates each of them; at the
end of this part, each team/table will be given a sheet to write down
'who, how and why' the Mayor was murdered (about 20 - 30 minutes).

Part 3. Each team/table will have fun solving the Murder Mystery and present
their solutions at this time; as there is no "right" answer, we will
appreciate creative and outrageous solutions.
