Thanks Kellie, we had a great night! Hi Kellie Malcolm has appeared at 2006 and 2007 concerts as part of the Auckland Pumpin at the Pumphouse jazz festival. Both times his concerts have been total sell outs. Malcolm attracts a diverse crowd as his music appeals to jazz and classical followers equally. "That's my kinda music" said Bill Clinton when Malcolm McNeill sang at a Presidential dinner in Christchurch. "A terrific singer and a really great voice" "Malcolm has always been one of our all-time favorite singers: one of the truly great practitioners of that increasingly rare art - singing quality songs as they should be sung" "Warm and engaging, with international appeal; an intimate way with lyrics that is hard to surpass" "Malcolm McNeill has a beguilingly beautiful voice and unerring taste for wonderful songs. His musicianship places him in a rare category of great artists" Michael Feinstein. "a fantastic singer - a great voice and great interpreter too. I'm a big fan of his." Blossom Dearie, New York "One of the highlights of my year was your recording of "Think of Rain". Every time I listen to it I get chills." "The Hoagy Carmichael CD is Wonderful! I Love your voice. No-one sings the way you do anymore, clear and beautiful and a wonderful telling story. I can't wait to turn all my friends onto you." " SUBLIME! Others may have sung it but McNeill seemed to own it. He made every song his own in moving, sometimes thrilling renditions - this was less a performance than a feeling given breath." " A performance by New Zealand singer Malcolm McNeill is a celebration of the art of interpreting the great American popular song". "There are only a handful of truly great interpreters of "The great American popular song in the world today - in that group is Malcolm McNeill." "His concern for the words, his melodic inventiveness and his control – provided several lessons in musicianship in one spellbinding performance " … "Malcolm is the most musical of singers. In his own right a great artist." "You not only hear every word, but its sense and emotional meaning too. This is the most expressive singing." "Very simply, my favorite singer." Hello Pete, |
