Gerard V has brought his unique brand of clean, classy stage hypnotism to company events, charities and clubs throughout NZ since 2005.
His customers include large corporate such as Fonterra, Gen-I, and IRD, as well as smaller organisations like CB Norwood, AB Equipment and Pronto Print.
Gerard V has performed for small groups (as few at 18) and large (800+) and varies the show and content each time, often using audience suggestions to create spontaneous gags, and new material on the spot.
The show is suitable for family events, corporate functions, product launches and parties. We feature a high quality sound system, lighting and lots of noise, laughter, fun and amazement. Gerard V does a full-on production, a real show, not just funny a guy with a mic. We have an amazing up-beat vibe, and only use volunteers – no trickery, no embarrassment, no picking-on, and no chicken gags.

Gerard V certified as a hypnotist in 1994, while he was working as a trainer and motivational speaker for Maygrove Management Services.
In 2005 Gerard V gained a Diploma in Stage Hypnosis from the Alberta Institute of Hypnosis and promptly to perform his first show at the Royal NZ Police College. Needing a sound guy and asking around, Gerard met Simon Murcott who offered to help out with lighting and sound for the first show. Simon added a real sense of occasion and technical sophistication that is unequalled in NZ comedy circles.
As a result Gerard and Simon have done every show together since that time. Gerard V on stage, Simon does sound and light, with additional crew for really large events.

Highlights:
Gerard V has done literally hundreds of shows, hypnotised thousands of people, and raised hundreds of thousands for charity. Some highlights are:
2005 – Royal NZ Police College – 1st show and what a laugh.
2006 – Wainui High School fundraiser – 250+ people and a huge success all ‘round.
2007 – Fonterra Brands Christmas function in Christchurch (at a pub)
2008 – Pat’s Garage birthday function (Poenamo Hotel, Auckland), Christmas.
2008 – Avondale RSA – who knew those guys could breakdance?
2009 – Hudson (recruitment), Xmas Party formal function, cocktails, comedy and areal hoot.
2009 – Queensland Police Commissioner fundraiser – Brisbane
2009 – Placemakers fishing competition, Whitianga, 800+ people
2009 – IRD Hamilton social club fancy dress Xmas party – never knew IRD folk were so cool.
2010 – Kapiti Sevens Rugby fund raiser, Southwards Theatre – great venue, great show.
2010 – Newlands College (third time there), did the first 15 minutes in total silence – never been done before in stage hypnosis!
