Blue Collar Band Blue Collar Band members are : Greer Wilcox, Phil Pritchard, Dennis Kingston and ‘Wales’ Andrew Taylor (vocals). Blue Collar Band have become well known for their strong and clear vocals, performing plenty of good classic hit songs, both laid-back and driving Blues-Rock featuring slide-guitar. Other genres include tasteful, jazz-blues, Soul, Reggae, country, rock and Rock & Roll. Blue Collar Band’s last CD release “HEADING SOUTH” was the Band’s 5th release. Phil is brilliant with the musical arrangements and has previously played with several world famous Bands (while living in Australia for 20 years). ‘Wales’ has a natural gift as a vocalist – we don’t know how he can sing with so much soul and also proficiently play guitar - without eyesight! Wales also writes songs and is well known around Auckland having performed in a number of well known Bands but also as a busker. Greer plays 5 string bass and together with Dennis, the two of them form a really tight rhythm section. As Dennis says ‘Greer plays on the mark and right in my pocket’! Greer thinks the same of Dennis’ drumming. Greer also plays Hammond organ and rhythm guitar. He, Phil and Dennis all contribute BV’s in most songs. BCB are prepared to travel from Taupo to Kaitaia and further afield upon special request/quote Blue Collar Band perform mostly popular covers Classic hit songs, but also include a few less commonly radio-thrashed numbers (but still familiar). The Band’s own adaptations and arrangements of non-original material is what they prefer. This way their individual expression can be incorporated in the music

Hi Kellie. Hi Pete I am Mark’s wife Carol. The Blue Collar Band played at my 50th birthday party on Saturday night and they were absolutely brilliant. People had commented all night how good they were. I emailed the band this morning to thank them for Saturday night and admitted that to begin with I was apprehensive about getting a band. Because of the expense I initially wanted a DJ however Mark insisted we hire the band, and it was the right decision. Mark and I have both had lots of phone calls today from family and friends saying what a good evening they had, and everyone of them has mentioned the band. I thoroughly recommend them. They made my party so special and memorable. I hope they’re still around for my 60th!!! Thanks for organising them for us. |
